Caring Callers – Be a Caring Caller: You can become a Caring Caller if you agree to make a one hour visit per week to your senior friend. New volunteers must also attend a brief training and orientation. Senior Peer Counseling – Be a Senior Peer Counselor: You can become a Senior Peer Counselor if you are 55 or older and can visit a senior one hour per week. The initial in-depth volunteer training is free and there are weekly supervision meetings that help counselors build skills and confidence. Creative Mediation – Be a Creative Mediator: You can become a volunteer mediator if you are able to deliver professional, high-quality mediation services to SLO County residents in conflict.  Volunteer mediators must be certified through our Conflict Resolution and Mediation Skills Training program, or a comparable course.
